Postpartum Is

Wearing a diaper and loving it.

Sleeping for two hours and feeling as though it were twelve.

Losing 20 pounds in a week and a half and then staring at the fat on your abdomen knowing that the last 20 pounds are going to take some work.

Being scared of bowel movements but rejoicing when they occur.

Wearing the same outfit every day and not wanting to leave the house.

Being easily overstimulated.

Wanting all your friends to text and call but not wanting to interact with any of them in person.

Going slowly.

Learning about your new body.

Constantly being amazed that you harbored and grew your baby in your womb, and then birthed her.

Your hair parting the other way for the first time in your life.

Your skin getting dry itchy patches no matter how much lotion you use.

Feeling stronger and more capable than you ever have.

Feeling more scared than you ever have at the responsibility of caring and raising for a person.
